I'd like to share with you a photo exercise I have put together for our upcoming Open House here at 180 McKown Point Rd on August 1st.  The below images are a collection of artistic renderings of the buildings before construction and what the same points of view look like today.

Building B (OBCC) foundation walls continue to be formed.  Concrete will be coming soon!

More windows in Building A are being installed
The elevator is on site and the mechanics are installing it
Framing for the front entrance windows is progressing
After the 2nd floor scientists put in their last minute suggestions work on the 2nd floor drywall can continue.  To the left of this image are the offices.
The stairway to my private patio (er, I mean the roof)
More windows going up, these are on the eastern end of the building facing the Damariscotta River

Rebar and forms have shown up on site.  Building B (OBCC) foundation walls are being framed and prepared to receive concrete

A meeting of the minds.  Everyone getting involved with a conflict of ductwork.
A nice view North out of the Board Room
A view down the corridor of the 2nd floor
Today we had the scientists of the 2nd floor labs come do a walk through to confirm the exact location and number of in-wall utilities.  Their last opportunity to add or move utilities to best fit the work they will be doing.  The image above are the Single Cell Genomics group.

Work on the footings for Building B (OBCC) is coming along

On Building A (BCBB) the foundation for the zinc siding is being attached.  The red lines are the Z-furrings which the zinc panels will be attached to, the brown material is additional insulation under the siding.
Ductwork and internal framing is progressing
The walk in growth chambers are installed and their connections are being finalized in the CCMP Lab

 Elevator shaft
The generator and Chiller pad is completed and the first chiller has been delivered and installed
The utility pads in the mechanical room have been poured
 The electrical room
The air handling unit is not in place and awaiting final connections
An image of the enthalpy wheel located within the air handling unit.  This wheel will transfer thermal energy from the out-going air to the in-coming air therefore reducing our energy demands.

Greetings All,
I have to apologize for not having this Blog updated, I have been away for several weeks.  So Hopefully you all can now catch up with the project.  It has been moving along at a really good pace in my absence.  Its getting more difficult to show big changes now that most of the work has moved indoors, but there are still some good images coming out of the building.  Also please notice that site work has begun in preparation for the 2nd building.  The second building is the Bigelow Center for Ocean Biochemistry & Climate Change.  This Building is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
Enjoy!
Marty

The last of the spray insulation is being installed
