December 2010

Happy New Year All!
December had brought quite a bit of progress. Up to this point we have already completed the water lines, most of the roads, and basic site development. This month we continue with the BCBB building, and almost completed bringing permanent electrical power to the site. We also started to develop the septic leach field. This leach field requires 7,000 cubic yards of material, so hopefully the people of East Boothbay will forgive the increased truck traffic, but I promise we will make this part go quick, you might not even notice.

Underground electrical lines were installed by Don's Electric Company of Monmouth, Maine. The overhead lines are being brought up from Green Landing road by Central Maine Power and drop down at the top of the service road. From that point on, its all underground.

The BCBB Building is coming along smoothly. This winters weather has been decent enough to allow concrete to be poured as planned. I have tried to give you a good series of images from two angles to be able to show the progress of the building. Soon I am going to need to find a new location to best represent the progress.

Today started the first concrete pouring of our foundation walls

By the end of December some of the walls are starting to be exposed, now we get our first look at the base structure. These walls that are being poured will be backfilled with earth and will not be visible from the outside once the building is completed.
